18th Annual Parent Leadership Conference "Rising Above Our Challenges, Part II"



Youth Guidance's 18th Annual Parent Leadership Conference is approaching fast. Please hold the dates of Friday, November 12, 2010 and Saturday, November 13, 2010. This year's theme is....

"Rising Above Our Challenges, Part II"

  • Social Emotional Learning!
  • Pre-Adolescent and Adolescent Development!
  • Differentiate Instruction!
  • Immigration-Who Do I Turn to For Answers?
  • Rigor and Excellence - Raising Expectation!
  • Performance Management - Using Data to improve student achievement and learning!
  • Parent Engagement verses Parent Involvement-Strategies and Techniques!
  • Finding Possible Solutions to Create a Healthy Community!
  • Self Matters - Preventive Care!
  • Putting the "I" Black into Individual IEP's and IDEA Special Education!
We are asking schools to commit to sending at least two (2) representatives or more from their school to attend this conference.
We also are asking our principals to complete and sign ourchase orders for the number of representatives from your school by October 13, 2010. However, early registration begin NOW! This conference will be one of the most enlightening, interacting, empowering, and educational conferences for parent leaders, teachers, principals, and community leaders who will make a difference in your school.
Our Parent Leadership Conference Goals
  1. To encourage, increase, and implement parental involvement in schools.
  2. To enhance skills for a safe environment
  3. To provide resources, skills, and strategies to implement at home and in schools
The cost of the conference is $375.00 per person. If a person request a single room, the price is $425.00-all fees include an overnight stay, meals and materials. Please be advised that Title 1 funds can be used for registration along with your purchase order number.
